Our Big Warm Up Means Big Snow In Western US And We Watch That For Next Week

The weather is like a see-saw in March across the US. When there is a warm up on one coast, there is usually a big cool down on the other.

We are currently in the middle of our warm stretch we fondly labeled False Spring. Thursday will be the warmest of the week, and likely to bump higher than computer model guidance. But at the same time, a very cool air mass will be bringing snow to the mountains of Southern California.

That storm will lead to big time snow in the Rockies this weekend, then head our way with slushy snow for us early next week. Check this out:

While we are in the 70s, southern California will get rain, with snow in the mountains outside Los Angeles and San Diego! Snow levels may drop to 1,500 Ft!

Western US In The Winter Pattern:

Snow showers will spread through the mountain region, and evolve into a larger storm.

Sunday Snow Storm

I know, snow in the Rockies is normally not a big deal. But this one might make news headlines.

Areas near and north of Denver could get between 3 and 4 Feet of snow! Even for them, that’s a big deal.
