Thursday March 11 2021
Today will be the warmest day of the stretch, and a reminder that it is false spring. The bottom will fall out this weekend, and we still might see snow falling next week.
But let’s focus on today, and the potential to reach a record high at BWI. On the record books for Baltimore, March 11 has the lowest record high temperature of any date this month.
75ºF on March 11 in 1967
Morning Surface Weather
The sky is the limit, literally! The only drawback will be how much cloud cover will mix in the sky:
The average high is 52ºF, and we should beat that early. Notice the chilly 30s near Baltimore and northeast Maryland. The warmer air is moving through behind those clouds.
Afternoon Temperature Forecast
We often verify warmer than models in warm ups
- Normal High in Baltimore: 52ºF
- Record High in Baltimore: 75ºF in 1967
Weather Guesser Game:
Here is the spread of the people that played calling how warm it will get at BWISorry, there are no polls available at the moment.
Cold Front Friday
Only scattered showers will be brief. It will shift the winds.
Friday Afternoon Temperatures
The colder air will gradually spread in. This is a step down, with much colder air on the way.
Jumping Ahead To Tuesday
We see slushy snow, but it will fall with temperatures above freezing.
If you have been keeping track, today already shows the trend for our warm up to be warmer… With that mindset, we could push deeper into the 70s on Thursday.
The cool down that begins on Friday will get reinforcements next week.
