Yesterday the sun and wind direction combined to push the 70s into central Maryland for the first time this year. You may have had the sunroof open and windows down on your car. You may have worn shorts, or simply spent more time outside. My friend Walter George found his daughter doing something different. I wanted to show you first, then the daily weather update below.

Walter owns the Annapolis Boat Sales dealership. We became friends when he helped my team cross the Bay during my Maryland Trek and being a generous donor to our nonprofit Just In Power Kids. He’s outside daily with his own kids, but never expected to find his daughter getting herself stuck in a bucket.

When he saw she wasn’t in pain he did what any good dad in 2021 would do, took out his phone to document the experience (and maybe one day show her prom date). This video has been seen by over 2 million on TikTok @Naclh20. But I don’t have that, so here it is on YouTube.

Weather

Today will be above average (52ºF) again, but not as warm as yesterday. Tomorrow will be back up in the 70s, and the warmest day of the week. Then the cold front arrives, and we may see some snow falling next week.

Monday Snow?

Note, this is the GFS Model forecast showing a ‘wet’ snow during the afternoon. Temperatures would be above freezing, so this does not look like a ‘stickage’ concern. But it is something to watch. The European Model is less impressive and brings the slight chance in Tuesday morning.

In March it is tough to get stickage unless the snow is very heavy and or falls overnight.

Temperature Outlook

This is the ‘blend’ of models and we see the slight increase in forecast high temperature for Thursday. I know I just showed you a snow map, and you see 44ºF high on Monday. Snow can fall with temperatures above freezing, even in the 40s. But that is the slushy, wet snow that has trouble sticking.
