Doppler Radar this morning has displayed flurries and light snow. What is reaching the ground? Will you see it?

Virga is the description for snow on radar that ‘sublimates’ in dry air and does not reach the ground.  That could be the case. However, there is more support aloft to continue this risk for flakes, and perhaps some light snow and a coating in spots for a few more hours.

Temperatures are cold enough, for anything to break through and last on the ground, but it sill be light.

This is when we begin to turn the corner. After a cold morning, temps begin to recover. Some models push in the warmer air faster. I tend to lean in that direction as well.

 

 

Looking Ahead: Storm Animation

The next storm track will be well west of us. That keeps us on the warm side with rain arriving on Sunday.  A return to colder air will follow after the storm.
