Wednesday November 11 2020

Today is Veterans Day and my son’s birthday. He turns 11 on 11/11, so it’s extra special!  If you make a wish, this is one day to make it count.

This is one of my favorite days of the year, but it will not be one of the best for weather. While it will still be unseasonably warm, rain is moving in this morning and will be with us through tomorrow.

Here is a quick look at the set up, live radar, and forecast sliders.

Veterans Day Morning Weather

Our rain is coming from a cold front AND tropical moisture from the south.

Tropical Storm Eta has 70 mph winds and is expected to become a hurricane.  That forecast track keeps changing and could spare us from weekend rain IF it turns into Florida. More on that later.

Radar Simulations

Rain is already ahead of the forecast this morning.  It will be heavy at times, but these forecast sliders are not perfect, so this is just a guide.  Some cells could produce thunder and isolated flooding when drains clogged with leaves overflow.
