Sunday September 20 2020

There is a lot to cover this morning just on the local front.  We had our first Frost Advisory of the season for parts of the region. With a clear sky, temperatures can vary quite a bit over a short distance. The coolest air will be in sheltered valleys inland, between higher elevations,  and north. It will be warmer near the water, urban areas, and by the water.

Here is a look at my weather conditions and a collection of temperatures for the coldest local counties. If you had frost, please share with me on social media.

Record Low at BWI? At 4 AM the airport reported a temperature of 43ºF, but back up to 44ºF t 5 AM. The record was 42ºF set in 1956 and 1959. We need to get the interior reports to see if perhaps the record may have been tied.

Morning Weather Map

High Pressure in New England is responsible for our chilly start. Meanwhile, Tropical Storm Beta is nearly stalled in The Gulf of Mexico. I will have a full report on that storm shortly.

My Low Temperature

We have thick fog as well that filled in the valley below our home up the hill. But there has not been any frost by us.
