Record Low Temperature Tied At BWI in Baltimore And Frost Photos Sunday September 20

We have flipped to the other extreme this morning in Maryland. After a record hot summer, the low temperatures this morning were in record territory. A Frost Advisory was in place well inland from Baltimore and the Bay, but nearby suburbs did get it as well.

The temperature drop at BWI Airport in Baltimore did tie the record of 42ºF, which was set in 1956 and 1959.

This was between official hourly reports before sunrise this morning.

Regional Temperatures at Sunrise

Most areas in the 30s and 40s. A few warmer 50s by the water. Even Ocean City (Airport at Berlin ) was 54ºF.

But local numbers between these stations were cooler. Widespread frost was reported just outside the beltway in Howard, Carroll, and Baltimore Counties in Maryland.
