Monday February  2020

We will have a very active week of weather ahead. This morning warm air is tryin to move in, but a wide range of temperatures is something you must check out below.  Some near 50ºF while others still have frost and fog. we will all warm up this afternoon!

This week can be simplified by simply expecting near 60 degrees today and tomorrow, then rain most of the rest of the week. A large storm will be impacting the nation and we can expect some heavy rain at times. To our south outbreak of severe storms. To our north (and maybe pretty close) it may get icy.  By this weekend, wintry will still be close enough to watch closely.

Morning Temperatures

This is something to take a moment and look at closely. Freezing to 50s are just a short car ride apart!

  • Upper 20s and lower 30s near Baltimore and on the east side. With some fog, there is like ice to scrape off of the windshield.
  • Upper 40s and Lower 50s are found just west of Baltimore in Howard, Carroll, and Frederick Counties.

Warm Afternoon

Today will be the nicest weather day of the week with no rain and temps near 60ºF.

Tuesday Temps

Tuesday Rain

Rain showers will spread across the area and begin the cool down.

Wednesday Temperatures

Plan for cooler air to spill in during the day. The afternoon should have lower numbers….

Wednesday Rain

The rain will drift south in the afternoon as colder air spills in.

Thursday Weather

Rain will be heavy at times. The timing and cold air will expand a large area of ice and snow to out north. In fact between the western Maryland mountains, Pennsylvania, and New England, this may be travel concern.

Friday Weather

Winter is still on the map with snow in Western  Maryland. This may bring a continued push of moderate to heavy rain for most of our area.

Sunday’s Storm?

I added the question mark because mid range modeling has NOT been very reliable this year. But for now, we track the plot of rain and snow very close. This is likely to be adjusted, but a slight change in time and track is why we need to watch this for now.

Temperature Outlook

Note: This is a ‘blend’ of models. In smooths out the outliers and could miss nuances in the pattern that might not match up with the model I showed above.
