Sunday February 2, 2020
Today is SuperBowl Sunday. It is a mirror palindrome date 02-02-2020. It is also Groundhog Day. Punxsutawney Phil did NOT see his shadow this morning while it was snowing in western PA. This translates to his forecast for an early spring. It is the first time he has called for an early spring 2 years in a row!. He also has only a 39% rate of accuracy, which is much lower than what some people might think of up human forecasters. So if you have Faith in the Flakes even after a mild winter, he is not the final word on our weather.
The next two days will give us a taste of all. A band of snow is moving our way and may bring an hour or two of flakes mid day. This may be more of a mix oof sleet and rain father south. Then we get a surge of warm air to near 60 degrees tomorrow. Mid week could bring us rain for a few days, with the heaviest on Thursday.
With all the excitement of the day, this is just a brief look.
