December 11 2019
Early Report: The snow has fallen overnight and left a coating on the grass for many. While roads have appeared wet in most areas, there have been reports of icy spots in the colder counties. The concern is that a few hours of temps near or just below freezing can still allow untreated wet pavement to ice up. The temperatures are reported at 5 feet above the ground. The surface can be a little colder… Just be aware that there cold still be some icing.
Final Burst of Snow
Harford and Cecil Counties made the call to delay schools last night. They have snow this morning, so this will put a lot of parents (and teachers) at ease. The wet versus icy road set up is spotty. As temps continue to remain near or drop below freezing, the chance for ice to develop remains through 8 AM. But this is the final burst of snow.
Eastern Shore getting a moderate clip of snow and their coating to 1 inch. The best chance for any icing on roads will be away from the water of the Bay. Snow showers through mid morning.
