Friday December 12 2019
The moon official turned full this morning at 12:12 AM (on 12/12). Just a heads up for parents and educators that the kids may be a little extra wild. Good luck, but many have already noticed it. At least the weather will be quiet, just cold today. Temps stay in the 30s and will simply be cold at the Ravens Thursday night game in Baltimore.
The weather map may not show it, but the next storm will get cranking in a hurry. Heavy rain moves in Friday night and Saturday. This could begin with some pockets of sleet on Friday, but the main issue will be up to 1 inch of rain, and it could be damp for the Army-Navy game in Philadelphia.
The next event in this active pattern will be Monday into Tuesday. Snow and a wintry mix are possible. The timing is likely to speed up faster than models are showing, but we can take a look below.

Temperatures will be cold, but if the clouds roll in, they may remain steady
Two Storms Animation
- Friday into Saturday: May have some light sleet during the day, then heavy rain overnight into Saturday. Total up to 1 inch.
- Monday into Tuesday: May start with snow and an icy mix. The frozen stuff will last longer overnight inland, but change to rain by the Bay. This timing is likely to change and could arrive sooner.
Storm 1 Rainfall Through Saturday
Storm 2: Snow And Icy Mix
The reliable European Model is more aggressive on the snow and ice beginning Monday mid day. As I have mentioned before, we must consider the model error and likelihood that the timing on this will speed up and arrive sooner. Stay tuned through the weekend.
