Tuesday October 15 2019
Today will be a nice day. After a chilly start, the sun should boost us to the upper 60s and near 70ºF. This pattern is bringing monsoonal moisture from the Pacific crossing to the Gulf Coast and will redevelop a Nor’easter on the east coast tomorrow. If you are like me and like to look ahead, this is a pattern that would produce a good snowstorm in the winter, and something I will be watching for a repeating trend into next season. For us, it will bring 1 to 2 inches of rain.
The heaviest rain will be during Wednesday afternoon, which has postponed a lot of school field trips. Following the storm will be colder into the weekend. This could bring snow to the high terrain of West Virginia and western Maryland. Locally the first frost possible Friday and Saturday mornings.
