Monday August 19 2019

Here we go again. Sunday tied the record high at BWI with 96ºF with 2002. The heat today may be a little higher, and the heat index will be in the dangerous level above 100ºF for many.  As far as storms, as we have seen in the past few days: Some get hit hard and many miss it!  The suggestion from the models of where the storms fire up is just that… a suggestion. However, if you followed my updates on Facebook and Twitter, I showed how the outflow from one storm led to the eruption of other storms.

There is little forcing other than the heat today. So. these will be slow movers and will have heavy downpours with intense cloud to ground lightning. This will be our set up today through Wednesday. Relief is in sight for the end of the week and weekend.

Thank you to our Title Sponsor for Maryland Trek 6

Shining on with Smyth and their contribution, our team has raised over $95,000 for Just In Power Kids to provide free programs for kids in and post cancer treatment.

High Temperatures

My only disagreement with this model are the projected temps in southern PA. I think York and Lancaster will reach the 90s again as well.

Relief In Sight

The jet stream shows the push of cooler air later this week. This should actually bring in cooler than average air with highs in the lower 80s by the weekend. This will feel refreshing.
