Sunday August 18 2019

We are now in another heat wave. Temperatures will be reaching into the 90s and heat index values will be pushing 100ºF or higher today into most of next week. The best we can hope for is some brief relief from a thunderstorm, but those will be spotty. The best I can do is show some short range model simulations for an idea of where they might develop.

Storms Today

The highest likelihood today will be between York PA and Baltimore as shown on the two model sliders below. Otherwise, just do what you have been doing all summer to stay cool. We are in this for a while.

Local Weather Stats:

Sunday August 18, 2019 in Baltimore

Average High:  85ºF

Record High: 96ºF in 2002

Average  Low: 65ºF

Record Low:  51ºF in 1981

Sunrise: 6:21 AM

Sunset 7:58 PM

*Daylight = 2:18 shorter than yesterday

*Bay Water Temperature = 81ºF at Thomas Pt. Light House
