Thursday May 2 2019

Today marks two things on the calendar: First, it is the first day of the year with sunset at 8 PM. Second, just one year ago we set the record high temperature in a three day 90 degree heat wave in Baltimore. A Dense Fog Advisory has been issued for much of our area and you may think it’s a good thing. This is a sign that the warm front is on the move, and for some temperatures will be more than 20 degrees warmer than yesterday. It’s also deceiving as there is thick fog in some areas such as Southern PA not under the advisory as shown here.

Dense Fog Advisory Until 9 AM

The frontal boundary responsible for this will move through and bring in summer heat this afternoon. It will also be responsible for some strong storms that could turn severe this afternoon. We will continue with a greater risk of storms Friday, then periods of rain this weekend.
