Friday May 3 2019

I wanted to start off differently this morning. The severe storm that rolled through the Annapolis Area on Thursday provided some incredible photos. But what really stands out is the video of lighting on the north side of the storm. Lindsey Fraser wrote me that she was checking on her dogs via her Ring camera off Stoney Creek in Glen Burnie. This was the north side of that storm cluster.  She found this video clip of lightning striking a tree next door.

Keep watching… About 20 seconds later you will see an ATV back out of the tree. Almost as if that vehicle was struck and the driver was stunned. Then as someone runs towards the scene, the boat just offshore begins to pull away.  Amazing that no one was hurt with the lighting this close

Incredible shelf cloud form Kenneth Graham. Notice the green cloud on the left… This is often a signal of hail.

Rain Outlook This Weekend

After getting lucky with most of Saturday being dry, the timing of the return of rain at night is something we need to keep tracking. There is a good risk of moderate rain overnight and Sunday morning, then more showers Sunday afternoon.
