Friday April 13 2019
The good news is that the temperatures will be warming up. The large storm that produced a late season blizzard in the northern US is still dumping snow this morning. Many places in Minnesota and the Dakotas have over 1 to 2 feet of snow! But the other part of the system includes a line of rain and thunderstorms that will be heading our way. Warmer air will be streaming ahead of it and we will get the first taste today, along with showers this afternoon.
Weekend Notes:
The problem with tracking this rain is that it’s a thin band that will try and stall across parts of Maryland. Yesterday, it looked like that stall would be right on top of us. The latest computer guidance indication is that it might make more progress to the east. But that could still keeps southern Maryland and the beaches in play…
We are not fully in the clear yet, but Saturday afternoon is looking better for the Boat Show on Kent Island and places north and west. That includes metro Baltimore, Southern PA, and west to the mountains. However, showers will return on Sunday with heavier rain to start next week. So if we get a dry window of time, it may work out best for Saturday afternoon, except if you are near Salisbury, Dover, and Ocean City. See the rain timelines below.
