This is just NOT our storm. I wanted to get through the weekend with a break from the storm chat but with area roads painted with brine many people kept asking what was happening. While I still believed the storm was heading east of us, I was duped by the computer models Sunday bringing us something. As I wrote yesterday, I didn’t think we would get much due to the warmer the freezing temps and timing. The only option was for some snow in the evening.

The storm developing will skip off of the North Carolina coast and head northeast.  We still could get some snow this evening with the upper level energy, but if it happens it will be brief and light. I had told my clients that if anything, maybe throwing salt on the pavement after the event would be sufficient, and that was for the colder places, not the cities. So at least they didn’t

This will be a big storm and it will dump heavy snow on eastern New England. I am sure you will be able to watch plenty of network or Weather Channel coverage of it just like the last one. For us, the colder than average air extends a few most of this week. Then we warm up and should make a push for near 60ºF by the end of the weekend.

This Morning

This Afternoon

The temperatures will be fairly uniform across the region as southern areas will be chilly being closer to the storm. Southern Maryland and the lower Eastern Shore will get some rain as well.

Evening Snow? Barely

That snow band on the back side is still trying to show itself in the colder northwester areas. But this will have trouble making it into metro Baltimore. Even if you get flurries or light snow, it seems like a non event.  Should this steady band of snow work out in Frederick, Carroll, and York Counties it will only last a few hours and mostly stick on the grass. Any road stickage will be marginal and slushy.

Temperature Outlook

Overall the rest of the week should be pretty quiet. Maybe a rain or snow shower , but nothing major on the way. This temperature outlook has leveled out a little but I still think we make a run for 60ºF by Sunday.
