Foggy And Cool Replaced By Summer Heat And Hurricane Ophelia Update

Category 2 Hurricane Ophelia still has 100 mph winds and is now racing through into the eastern Atlantic towards Ireland. The visible satellite from sunrise over the storm shows a well defined eye, albeit of a small storm. The track and timing of the potently landfall on Ireland is holding. See the complete update and maps below. Locally we are stuck in the muck. Plenty of drizzle and fog but a wind shift should help to warm us into the 70s and dry us out a little. One more summer like day on Sunday will as we surge into the mid 80s ahead of a cold front. There is a slight risk of a thundershower as another brief cool down arrives for the start of the work week. Then the roller coaster of temperatures continues.

This Morning

Areas of drizzle and fog will be slow to depart, but gradually we should warm and brighten the sky today. The warmer winds will push in Sunday and push us into the mid 80s. The cold front across the Great Lakes will reach us Sunday evening with a small chance of thundershower and rain overnight. Monday morning will bring us back to near normal.
