July 22 207

We are about to compete the trifecta of storm lines today. If you have been tracking along with me and my reports today, then you know the expectation of three rounds of storms today has proven itself so far. Even Annapolis got in on the action as the bubble could not hold back the surge today. Well, as we head into the night hours, we are watching the radar light up just west of Hagerstown and Chambersburg (in PA). This was the 8 PM image and below is the 8 PM projection in the radar simulation from a fee hours ago for comparison.

It looks like a few hours of rain that may have local flooding and frequent lightning. Due to diurnal heating, there chance of hail is very low, but winds could be quite gusty, even if below the severe limits.

Please see the notes below the simulation

NOTES

This first image in the slider does show the rain line lagging a little, so as we plot the rain into metro Baltimore and York, we can see the timing around 9 to 10 PM form the west side. The rain should last 2 to 3 hours and could have a cluster of lightning… so the Orioles game might be cut short early, if they have not finished yet.

Southern Maryland, Delmarva, and the beaches will get in on this as well overnight. We will get a break for morning, but could have another round or two Sunday.

We are under the same threat Sunday
