Wednesday May 17 – Today is the day our temps jump to summer levels. A mostly sunny sky and shift of winds will allow us to heavy up in a hurry. How hot may be the question, and that may be subject to where you are. But using Baltimore’s BWI as the center point of our region, here is the comparison of three models projection for today. If you want to take your guess, go back (to Facebook or Twitter) and let me know what you think will be the final number for today.  Note that it is for official thermometers, not your car or local bank sign.

We have a few more days of this… It maybe hotter tomorrow and we hang on to it, with more humidity and storms on Friday. Then a cooler wind this weekend will bring us more clouds and temps in the 70s for Preakness.

Compare to Record Highs (for Baltimore)

  • May 17 = 93ºF in 1896
  • May 18 =  97ºF in 1962
