Active Week Then Arctic Blast To Follow: First Flakes

Saturday December 3 – A chilly wind has been with us this morning, but temperatures will get back close to average numbers (upper 40s to near 50°F) today and for the Ravens game Sunday. Then a few storms will roll our way. The set up may bring a few flakes or sleet pellets as it arrives, but rain will dominate this week. The real pattern change will arrive in the second half of the work week bringing arctic air for next weekend. This is the most likely part to bring snow showers our way. It looks like the pattern holds with reinforcing cold to follow the week after. Here is a look starting with the change in the jet stream.

The second system has a different track and timing, so the rain ending as snow is not the expectation, but Lake Effect snow showers to follow will bring us some flakes for a different reason.
