outlooktempsday8_14Friday December 2 – There is a cool breeze in the air, but the real cold is just about a week away with what looks like the pattern chance winter lovers have been waiting for. Today is the last day of the year Baltimore’s BWI record show an average high temp of 50°F. This weekend will be quiet and near average including the Ravens game (flurries in the mountains), but next weekend highs likely to stay in the 30s. We have some chances for our first flakes, with the most impressive at the end of next week. But the models are not in agreement and no major storms are expiated yet.

Faith in the Flakes Day: Monday December 5th is the date Baltimore had the season’s first snow almost every day for a decade, so we want to celebrate by wearing our FITF shirts. I will make a post on FB to highlight it. Post your pics, including over 135 schools with faculty that have them, and I will b giving away some snowsticks. Let’s get into the season and have some fun with our obsession 🙂

Snow Chances?

Here is a look at the Canadian and GFS Models. The impulse Sunday night/Monday looks more likely to bring light showers to the mountains. The better chance is later in the week. The Canadian Model is still holding on to a strong cold front with a transition of rain to snow. The GFS has lost this, and my be back to its old weakness in this timeframe… but still shows a strong upper Low and snow showers next weekend.
