Earl To Become A Hurricane And Our Cooler Days

Screen Shot2016-08-03 06_12_22Wednesday Aug 3 – You may have noticed the drop in humidity and temperature this morning. We are just getting the influence of High Pressure to our north and a wind shift. There is a slight chance that the wind off the ocean will develop a shower this afternoon, but overall we are in good shape for a few days.  First I wanted to show you the 5th names storm of the Atlantic tropical season. Tropical Storm Earl has 65 mph winds this morning, and is expected to become a Hurricane before making landfall on Central America. The most popular question I have gotten in the last day: Will this impact the Olympics?  The answer: No! This storm is almost half way between Baltimore and Rio. So Early won’t be close to the start of the Summer Olympics.  See the maps here:

The next main feature will be a cold front worth watching Friday into Saturday. This does not look very active now, but storms will erupt as it passes through. Temps should reach the 90s Saturday, then cool off Sunday into next week.
