August 1 2016- It is going to rain today. That is a given, it should not be nearly as bad as this weekend’s flooding event as the storms should move through quickly and perhaps may usher in a break for a few days. But before showing the radar simulation and timeline, I wanted to share a video of a recent storm over Baltimore. There has been so many negative images with the destruction of Ellicott City that is still under a State of Emergency after their 1 in 1000 year flood. This video is a time lapse Tim Shahan captured showing a distant view of lightning over the skyline. Below is the weather outlook for today and this week ahead.

Rain Today:
There is a stationery front to our north that will get active in the afternoon heat, then drop through Maryland. This will bring a round of thunderstorms and try to drop the humidity behind it. Looks like mid 80s mid week, then back to the 90s Friday and Saturday.

Outlook:
The rain threat drops for a few days along with lower temps and humidity. There will be a boost back to the 90s by the end of the week, but at this point it will be short lived an hopefully gone by Sunday when my team and I start our 3rd Trek Across Maryland for Cool Kids Campaign.
