Thursday June 23 – As expected, we wake up with a cluster of rain this morning. But this will be just a morning thing. While it will be some heavy at times, the risk of severe storms locally this morning does not appear to be here. This band will depart by noon, as the action remains along the frontal boundary in southwestern Virginia. But another round of storms will be possible late afternoon and this evening as we track some cells dropping south out of Pennsylvania.
The risk of severe storms is slight from the PA/MD line and southward. The Enhanced risk will be concentrated around Ohio and West Virginia. Again, the rain this morning will give way to a break for much of the afternoon with the bulk of the energy to our south. Then a second round of storms will begin to form after 6 PM and track into the evening.
