February 28 – The weekend closes out at least 10 degrees warmer than the day before. This will be a Sunday filled with sunshine and a warm up. There is no arguing, this will be a day to be outside and might lend hints of spring. Late winter warm ups need a disclaimer: It is often much cooler by the water and the warmest can be in the hills and mountains.  The high temperature forecast map below shows a spread of nearly 70°F  to the 50s by the chilly water Chesapeake Bay. Then as the week progresses, there will be two systems to watch. The first only brings light rain showers Monday.  Tuesday- March arrives with a storm passing to our west. We stay on the warm side with rain… but there is a slight chance for snow at the end (similar to last week). The outlook however, rather mild.

Storms Ahead?

Mid Week Storm (–> slider)

Rain will be the case with this storm for us. If you are holding out for snow, this looks similar to last week’s event. A wave of Low pressure will form along the cold front, which will bring down colder air.  Depending on when that forms will determine when the colder air filters in. As for the snow, don’t hold your breath for more than a few squalls or flurries.

Canadian Model: Storm But A Little Warm (for us)

This is a different solution, but the cold air seems to not be enough to reach south into Maryland.
