February 24 1:25 PM Update -If you have noticed the push of moderate or heavy rain bands this afternoon ushering warmer air, there is much warmer air to the south. The winds and energy are trying to feed northward, but we still have a stubborn wedge of cold air in place battling back. It will be the warm air, and then watching the wind direction that will feed potential strong or severe storms mid afternoon through evening. The better chance will be farther south where 70s are already showing up.
Flooding is still a possibility and it does not take severe storms to bring that. The ground is already saturated, so moderate downpours or regular thunderstorms could add to the ground water problems.
Below is the latest HRRR Model forecast high temperature map.. showing the expatiation for the 60s to reach central Maryland. Also, see the radar simulation to give an ‘idea’ of the timeline. This is not precise, but use as a gauge.
