A Tornado Watch has been issued for until 9 by NOAA’s Storm Prediction Center. This includes northern Maryland and most of Pennsylvania until 9 PM. As we mentioned this morning, conditions are ripe for storms to reach severe limits and some may rotate. This is a small percentage of the storms that all form, but worth watching for rotation, accompanying large hail, and damaging winds over 60 mph. Below are two computer model simulations. The NAM/WRF shows the hard hit between Baltimore and the PA line, again including routinely hit Baltimore, Harford, and Cecil Counties. Pennsylvania concerns cover much of the state. The time frame for the most active weather locally will be between 6 and 8 PM. The HRRR model is less intense, but shows a target on the same area. Please stay tuned to all outlets for any warnings that may be issued, and of course tracking with us on social media.
