Once again we have a cold front passing through with the peak of the afternoon heat. The bulk of the energy will pass north of Maryland, but there will be enough to push the storms to severe levels. With temperatures getting close to 90F and the atmospheric history targeting Baltimore and Harford Counties in June, this should be considered a viable threat. The main risk will be for strong winds reaching 60 mph gusts. There is a chance for an isolated tornado, but the dynamics do not point towards hail. That might be a relief to some after the 4 inch ice stones that fell in late June. But should a storm spin up an isolated tornado, then hail would be a possibility. Here is a quick look at the timeline with the simulated radar. There will be a mid afternoon band of showers ahead of the front, but the main line will arrive in central Maryland and southern Pennsylvania between 5 and 7 PM.

90F + today then staying near average in the upper 80s into the weekend. The main story will be a drop in humidity and dry days- 3 in a row: Friday-Saturday-Sunday.
