The rainfall total for Saturday June 27 shattered the record for Baltimore at BWI. A total of 3.11 inches broke the old record of 2.04″ set 132 years ago, back in 1883! We already had the record for the month set earlier in the week. This puts the month of June 2015 at 13.09″ of rain, making it the 4th wettest of any month on record. With all of that rainfall, flooding was inevitable. Surprisingly the river gauge assessment this morning only showed a handful in minor flood stage. Below is a look at The Monocacy at Bridgeport still under Flood Warning this morning. Also The Severn River at Annapolis, Seneca Creek at Dawsonville, Western Branch at Upper Marlboro, and Washington Channel at the Southwest Waterfront. You will notice that most seem to have crested, but Western Branch is still on the rise. Some tributaries will drop quickly while others have a delay as water continues to flow and fill in from upstream.
