Saturday July 31 2021

The good news is that the clouds you may be seeing this morning, will be gradually moving away. By this afternoon most of our region will be sunny and pleasant.  It might take a little longer at the beaches to clear, but it will happen.

The bad news is that rain is on the way Sunday. I tried to inject some optimism and downplay this organized system with late day showers. Just In Power Kids has an event with the families and trekkers, and I was hoping for better weather. At least we have a Pavillion, and this proves I can’t control anything, but I may get some blame,

Morning Surface Weather

High Pressure is in place, and the winds will help to push the clouds away.

The cluster of rain north of St. Louis is a developing Low Pressure. This will be passing through Maryland during the day on Sunday.

Satellite Loop

Here we see the band of clouds starting to shift south and erode away.

Look closely. Where you see crossing lines of white on the top half of the image….  Those are river valleys filled with fog in northern Pennsylvania and New York.  It I common in late summer and fall when cool nights allow the warmer water to develop low clouds along those river valleys.

Sunday Rain Animation

2 AM to 10 PM

The start of August rarely has a solid system like this, but here go and it is moving in faster. So rain should be with us in the morning, then move out later in the day.

Sunshine State Of Mind

I am done with the cold and snow (for the season). I am embracing my wife’s mantra of Sunshine State of Mind.

This was designed by Shannon Berk and we will be wearing it through spring and to the beach.

Double Benefit: Proceeds will be split between our nonprofit Just In Power Kids and the development of my new weather website. That has been scheduled to be ready to launch in May.
