Sunday July 18 2021
Today is one of those days where we can really see the influence of the cold front and our terrain. you can actually see the clouds on this satellite loop dominate in the mountains, but break up in the metro areas and south. Rt. 50 appears to be the line of demarkation from clearing, with another band of clouds in the southern Chesapeake and over Ocean City MD.
Behind the front, temperatures are in the 70s or cooler. At noon it was actually in the 50s in western Maryland’s Garrett County. That is thanks to cloud cover and high elevation.
South of the front, temps have reached the 80s, and there is a lot more sunshine.
Surface Winds Are Helping
This cold front will reach the coast, so more clouds may build across Delmarva… also signaling a drop in temps and humidity.
But it will be brief, as we aim to get back to the lower 90s during the work week.

Sunshine State Of Mind
I am done with the cold and snow (for the season). I am embracing my wife’s mantra of Sunshine State of Mind.
This was designed by Shannon Berk and we will be wearing it through spring and to the beach.
Double Benefit: Proceeds will be split between our nonprofit Just In Power Kids and the development of my new weather website. That has been scheduled to be ready to launch in May.
