Thursday May 27 2021

Today will be the best weather day we will have for a while. It may be hard to believe, but a very chilly and wet pattern begins Friday into the weekend. The temperatures will not represent the holiday anywhere in our region. But we have hope that end the weekend will be in better shape (Monday).  The break down is below.

Storm Reports

Dozens of broken trees and power outages came in Thursday.  There were a few sightings of hail over 1 inch (size of a quarter), and rainfall up to 1 inch.

I am working on a full list of storms reports to show you in my next report.

Morning Surface Weather

The humidity will gradually drop throughout the day and it will feel pleasant by this afternoon while still warm.

The next cold front means business! Rain showers may actually begin in the morning, then periods of steady in the afternoon rain through Saturday. Temps will fall and struggle to get out of the 50s for much of the weekend. (See the temperature maps below).

Weekend Rain Animation

Friday Through Monday

Low Pressure will ride over our region and redevelop on the coast. This will lock us in the northeasterly winds and keep rain around through Saturday.

Sunday: Lingering showers but remaining chilly.

Monday: High Pressure should clear us out and allow temps to begin warming.

Sunshine State Of Mind

I am done with the cold and snow (for the season). I am embracing my wife’s mantra of Sunshine State of Mind.

This was designed by Shannon Berk and we will be wearing it through spring and to the beach.

Double Benefit: Proceeds will be split between our nonprofit Just In Power Kids and the development of my new weather website. That has been scheduled to be ready to launch in May.
