The weekend is here, summer heat is back, and we have our first named tropical storm of the Atlantic season. At 5 AM Tropical Storm Ana formed just north of Bermuda, the first named storm of the Atlantic season and it has 45 mph sustained winds.
Hurricane Season does not officially begin until June 1, but there has been a trend to see systems one or two weeks earlier. Well, here we are.

While has been ‘backing’ to the west, it appears the circulation will be wondering back out in to the open Atlantic.
Forecast Track
This is expected to turn the corner today and begin to shift away from Bermuda. It will remain a Tropical Storm through Monday.
The only impact on the East Coast may be some higher waves and minor rip currents.

It is looking like summer with High Pressure overhead, but we will have clouds mixing in. You can see the upper air flow in the satellite loop above.
This will help mitigate how warm we can get, but also may bring in some isolated thunderstorms this afternoon.

I have been watching this closely for a few area graduations.
A few isolated pop up sprinkles could begin by 1 PM in northern Maryland and near the PA line.
A 30% chance of thunderstorms after 4 PM.
