Thursday April 22 2021
Last night I showed the NAM computer model plot for a band of snow showers this morning. That is exactly when we see on Doppler radar, which is a rare sight in central Maryland this deep into April. This was just a narrow band, so most of the area is not included. However parts of Frederick, Carroll, and Baltimore Counties got in on the action.
Morning Surface Weather
The larger pattern looks a bit more like winter, with the cold flow of are over the Great Lakes. Bands of snow showers are falling from the Mid West to New York.
Self Destructing Sunshine: Once again we will see this air mass interact with the strong April sun and quickly result in new cloud cover.

Sunshine Sate Of Mind
I am done with the cold and snow (for the season). I am embracing my wife’s mantra of Sunshine State of Mind.
This was designed by Shannon Berk and we will be wearing it through spring and to the beach.
Double Benefit: Proceeds will be split between our nonprofit Just In Power Kids and the development of my new weather website. That has been scheduled to be ready to launch in May.
