The temperature contrast across our region with today’s cold front is impressive. At 1 PM, we had a range from the 20s in western Maryland to the 70s across the Chesapeake Bay.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in place for storms that may turn severe. If you get a warning, that means one is being tracked. Compare radar simulation and live radar below. Snow continues to fall on Deep Creek, MD. So I’ve included the web cams again for your FITF pleasure.

As you might imagine, the worst weather is in between and getting more steam. This prompted a Severe Thunderstorm Watch until 6 PM. But most of the activity should reach the coast by 4 PM.

A severe storm may contain winds over 58 mph, large hail over 1 inch diameter, frequent lightning, and even an isolated tornado.
