Sunday April 11 2021
The system that came in overnight dropped an average of 1/2 inch of rain in metro areas, with over 1 inch in the mountains. That heavy rain has moved through early this morning, and we will have a warm and humid afternoon. This may lead to some pockets of showers and thunderstorms later.
If those storms have a chance to turn strong or severe, the sun needs to break out earlier. This first round of rain has taken some of the sting out of the atmosphere. More heat will recharge it. But if the temps hold down, then the late say showers will be diminished.
Cooler Days Ahead: The pattern is about to change. Much cooler weather is on the way for the week ahead as temperatures will trend below average.
Morning Surface Weather
The MCC I mentioned last night is moving through this morning. It may take a few hours, but we will get into the warm air with sunshine. Much cooler weather is lingering with a large upper level trough to our west. We will begin to feel the influence Monday.

Sunshine Sate Of Mind
I am done with the cold and snow (for the season). I am embracing my wife’s mantra of Sunshine State of Mind.
This was designed by Shannon Berk and we will be wearing it through spring and to the beach.
Double Benefit: Proceeds will be split between our nonprofit Just In Power Kids and the development of my new weather website. That has been scheduled to be ready to launch in May.
