Sunday March 28 2021

We start off with rain and expect storms in the afternoon, but this will not be a complete washout. A break in the action mid day will allow for some sun early afternoon. That is what we need to focus on, because if temps reach the mid 70s there will be fuel for storms to turn severe.

The storm timeline from west to east in our region will be between 4 PM and 9 PM, followed by a Wind Advisory overnight. Then chilly for a day, More rain on Wednesday followed by even colder air to start April.

Morning Surface Weather

Morning rain will move through and break for most around mid day.  The line of heavier rain and storms will be with a cold front in the mountains.

Severe Storm Outlook

Updated Sunday morning. The higher risk will be south of Baltimore.

This risk depends on how warm temps can get this afternoon. We need the 70s, but if it stays cooler, the energy will not be strong enough for storms to turn severe.

Severe Storm Criteria: Winds 58+ mph, Hail 1″+, and/or  isolated tornadoes.
