Thursday March 4 2021
If you forgot what a cloud looked like, you will get a review today. Colder air is moving in behind a new front. In addition to a wind shift to the Northwest, there will be more clouds in the sky.
Basically it will look and feel colder today. This chilly winter weather will last into the weekend, but we get a big warm up next week. I am going out on a limb stating some in our region reach 70ºF next week, even though the models don’t show it yet.
Morning Surface Weather
The cold front moving through this morning will shift the winds and help bring in more clouds.
Morning IR Satellite
The spread of clouds can be seen advancing southward through Pennsylvania before sunrise. This will continue to move through our region during the morning.

Looking Ahead:
Jet Stream Through Next Week

- Orange: Warm
Notice the colder trend through the weekend, then a big warm up next week. This will be followed by another chilly pattern returning by March 17.
Snapshot Next Week:
Our warmest day should be next Wednesday.
Temperature Outlook
This weekend will feel like winter. Next week the question will be how warm can it get. Often when we have a spring warm up, we end up even higher than projected.
That means, it is possible to actually reach 70ºF in some local areas (away from the water) by the second half of next week.
