Eta Moves Through Florida Keeping Rain Here Longer But Changes The Weekend

November 11 2020 Wednesday Evening Update

Heavy rain has fallen today as expected, and more is on the way.  If you noticed, it is warm and muggy, but this was the first day in a week Baltimore did not reach 70ºF.  The changes will continue!

The weather map this evening snows Tropical Storm Eta about to cross central Florida. This will NOT hit our region directly. But it will help stall the front bringing us rain now. But when it clears out, the weekend weather may be different enough for you to pay attention for your plans.

This is forecast to cross Florida and move off of the East Coast.

That is very different than sitting in the Gulf into the weekend.  The result means it will stall the cold front near us until Friday, but also NOT play a role in the next weather event.

The weekend will end up better.

Heavier rain will fall in southern Maryland and lower Delmarva.

 

 

 

Friday Morning

Showers in the morning will be followed by dry winds in the afternoon.

There will be another front on the way at the end of the weekend. But without Eta in the Gulf to feed into it, there will be less moisture ahead of it.

We should get a nice Saturday and most of Sunday will be dry. The rain will arrive later towards evening.

My Take Away:

• Thursday: More rain, heavy in the morning especially in our southern areas.
• Thursday afternoon/evening: Scattered showers.
• Friday: Morning shower, then turning dry.
• Weekend: Dry and sunny Saturday. Sunday will start dry, with increasing clouds. The rain will arrive in the evening. That will be our main cold front and big change of temperatures
