Tuesday November 3 2020
This Election Day across the US will bring relative quiet weather, with the exception of a clipper brining some snow to upstate New York and New England.
Today starts off chilly and breezy for us. Wind will gust to 20 mph, But we turn the corner to a warming trend. That is common after early season surges of cold air, and this warm up may last a while. A look at the temperature outlook below.

The other big storm is Category 4 Hurricane Eta, which became the 28th named storm of the season. That tied the amount of storms in 2005. This has 150 mph winds, the third strongest in November. It is expected to make landfall on Nicaragua today with devastating effects!

Looking Ahead
The jet stream will be relaxing for us in the Eastern US. A ridge will develop allowing an extended period of warmer and dry weather into next week (orange).
But watch the trough in the western US (blue). The jet stream will be active and bring cool, wet/stormy weather to the western US. That is what they need to fight the fires. This stormy pattern will eventually wing back our way in the middle of November. Take the bonus time now to secure your yard work and winterize your home.
