This morning Tropical Storm Delta officially was named. This is the 25th named storm of the 2020 Atlantic tropical season. Winds are 40 mph as it passes south of Jamaica. There is a favorable environment for this to intensity over the next few days. That includes warm water and less wind shear than what just tore TS Gamma apart. Both are seen on this satellite image.
Tropical Storm Warnings are in pace for the Cayman Islands and a Hurricane Watch for western Cuba. The long range forecast has this landing on the Gulf Coast near New Orleans on Friday. Then inland could bring heavy to the Mid Atlantic.
