Here we got again! Delta was just named this morning, and has already jumped to hurricane intensity. I said it was worth watching with a favorable environment, but this was quicker than I expected. The National Hurricane Center update at 8 PM had winds at 75 mph, and now forecasting this to be a major hurricane in the Gulf of Mexico in a few days!
This is the 25th named storm of the season for the Atlantic. Of them, 8 have become hurricanes, and 2 major hurricanes (Cat 3+).
