Hurricane Sally continues to crawl at 3 mph. The wind speed increased to 105 mph, making this  Category 2 storm. At  4:45 AM (5:45 AM EDT) CDT The National Hurricane Center  landfall was official at Gulf Shores, AL. The worst conditions have missed New Orleans to their east.  Hurricane force winds have been hitting that area for 8 hours prior. The large eye wall includes Pensacola, FL to Dauphin Island, AL.

The forecast track would funnel water from the east into Lake Pontchartain putting a full test of the water pump system in New Orleans.
