August 31 Weather Cooler With Rain Developing: New Interactive Simulation Slider

Today is the start of school for some on the area. Yes, even in person. The weather may appear to have changed seasons to match, at least for a day.  It will be cooler and rain will develop. But the heavy rain is likely to stay in the mountains, and ease as it spreads east.

Meanwhile, there is a 60% chance of a tropical Low developing off of the southeast coast, only to make things more interesting.

Here is a look at two model radar simulations to compare including the new interactive slider I debuted yesterday.  Plus our outlook that does warm back up a lot at the end of the week.

Morning Set Up

If something tropical develops, it will not directly impact us. However, it will enhance the east wind and delay the movement of that front.

Temperatures and Wind

The winds are light, but from the east. This will help feed the clouds and hold our temperatures below ‘normal’ today.

Looking Ahead

In general, expect light rain today, a break Tuesday. The more showers Wednesday. This will be followed by a warmup back to the upper 80s and near 90ºF at the end of the week. Friday brings T’storms, then clearing this weekend.
