We are turning the corner in this heat wave today It will still be hot, but likely staying below 100ºF in Baltimore this time. By dropping the thermometer a little, the Heat Advisories have been issued for less area, just based on the heat index expected this afternoon.
We also expect more widespread strong storms, and some may turn severe tonight. The one good thing is that there could be a few hours of rain after dark, which the vegetation desperately needs. Check out the radar simulation below.
We will have a few days with more storms, but temps will get lower and the region should see an improvement for the weekend.

Morning Temperatures
Starting the day in the 80s by the beaches and lower Eastern Shore. This is where the Heat Advisory is in effect today. Lower to middle 70s inland is a little better, but still will be uncomfortable.

Note: This product is a guide, but far from perfect! This has underestimated the storms coverage in areas and missing some earlier cells. It has also been a little south of where they verify. But if gives us an idea what may develop if we apply those errors.

A cold front will move closer and bring a higher chance for severe storms.
Storm Outlook
Showers and storms will be more widespread through Friday. Then improving this weekend.
Temperature Outlook
The drop in temps to the near 90ºF at BWI, means 80s in the suburbs. That would be an improvement.
Records?
That will be tough to challenge with some of the hottest already set on those days

July 22 106ºF in 2011
July 23 102ºF in 2011+
