Wednesday July 8 2020
We are stuck in this pattern with heat and uncomfortable humidity, which will be oppressive today. The boundary that has helped to trigger storms will be to the north in central PA later today, so the storm development will be there, while only a few isolated cells may pop up elsewhere.
The way to break the pattern may be a tropical Low moving up the coast Thursday and Friday. It may or may not fully develop, but it will spur up the waves and bring organized rain, especially along the coast. The heat will return, but with a drop in humidity this weekend.

Storm Risk
Isolated storms may pop Northwest of Baltimore. This is NOT exact, but we will watch northern Frederick and Carroll Counties for the best chance (first) in central Maryland.

Looking Ahead
The storm outlook really depends on the track of the Low to the south. That depends on how it develops and where when it starts to move north. The fine line may include a track of heavy rain near the coast and outside of the influence actually stabilizing the air (subsidence) to the west. We need to see how this forms today to get an idea where that might set up, but it will be across parts of our region.
How Close Will It Get?
This will impact the local beaches of Maryland and Delaware, especially on Thursday. Plan for high waves, gusty winds, and a period of heavy rain. This should move north on Friday, but the waves and rip currents will remain for another day or two.
Temperature Outlook
After the costal Low passes by, the heat will return. But we will get a drop from the oppressive humidity over the weekend.
Maryland Strong Love ❤️
My ‘bonus’ daughter made this map of Maryland a few years ago. We brought it back for needed positivity. Now on her pick of tanks, and this cool Maryland T for men or women.
