Wednesday July 1 2020
The radar this afternoon has been lit up across southern Maryland, Delmarva, and near the beaches. The morning activity never settled down, and appears to be enhancing this afternoon. Basically, it is not a good day t the beach. The most unstable region is highlighted where surface winds are from the ocean feeding in to the upper level disturbance and heat from the July sun.
Slow moving storms may produce local flooding. As of this post, there is an Aerial Flood Warning across central Delaware.
Individual cells may reach severe limits with damming winds over 60 mph.
Doppler Radar at 1 PM
Here we can see the strong storm clusters in southern Maryland and round Dover to Lewes DE. Showers remain between Salisbury and Ocean City. I’ve annotated the movement of the storms (which is opposite of the surface winds shown above).
Weather Animations: The movement of the cells has been to east and southeast.

The explosive development is viivd here. More heat will bring more storms this afternoon through evening.

Maryland Strong Love ❤️
My ‘bonus’ daughter made this map of Maryland a few years ago. We brought it back for needed positivity. Now on her pick of tanks, and this cool Maryland T for men or women.
