This is a brief update on the rain today. We’ve already had some showers this morning, and there will be a few dry and warm hours. The rain that returns later will develop as new showers not seen on radar now. Then a line of heavy rain and some thunder will form along a cold front tonight. I have two models to compare as the location of the track is a little different.
This will be our last warm day for a while as the entire patter turns much cooler than normal for the next 2 weeks.

The rain this morning was well ahead of the cold front. Here is a recap of the band of showers. Temps will warm in to the mid 70s across Maryland, but feed into the develop rain along the cold front.

Rain Timelines:
Here are two models with slightly different results. Both show much of the afternoon dry, but showers will develop with more widespread rain this evening and tonight.
The HRRR Model is farther north with the rain, and later with the storm timing tonight. The NAM is farther south and tracks the bulk of storms a little earlier in the evening.
